Halifax Visit 2013

Sunday 4th August 2013 12:00PM

The Society has been delighted to welcome and host a group of visitors from the twin town of Aachen. A full programme of social events and visits had been arranged for the week which was greatly enjoyed by all. The group was welcomed to Calderdale in the Town Hall by the Mayor, Cllr Ann Martin, and her Consort Mohammad Naeem.
A Welcome Party was held at Siddal RLFC where old friendships were renewed and new ones created amongst the younger people from Aachen and Halifax.
During the week visits were made to Keighley Police Museum and Skipton; Ampleforth Abbey and Helmsley; Shibden Park and Harvey's Café; Port Sunlight; Heptonstall and Hebden Bridge. The Farewell Party was held at Crow Nest Golf Club, Lightcliffe where the guests were the Mayor and Consort of Calderdale Council.
