My Life With Laughs

Patty Gold entertained the February meeting of the Society with an appropriately entitled talk “My Life with Laughs”. She told of her long career as a dancer and singer starting as a child in pantomime in Yorkshire theatres, going on to work with stars of musical entertainment at the Batley Variety Club, London Palladium and at summer season shows in holiday resorts. Later she worked at international venues and on cruise ships which took her around the world. She had affectionate anecdotes about many of the top entertainers she came to know including Gracie Fields and Frankie Vaughan.
