Yorkshire Dialect Poetry

Despite serious traffic congestion delays, a large turnout of Members to the Society’s April meeting were treated to a very enjoyable evening of Yorkshire Dialect Poetry presented by Alan and Carol Walker. Using both old almanacs and modern sources they recited and performed a variety of poems and tales about everyday life in Yorkshire since the 1860s, including many amusing sagas of family and working relationships. They were warmly thanked by the Chair, Trevor Briggs.
