Halifax Aachen Society was delighted to welcome the Mayor of Calderdale, Councillor John Hardy, and the Mayoress to its Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Gala Concert which was held at St Andrew’s Methodist Church.
The audience was richly entertained by The Reflections singing group with a selection of Songs from the Shows, well-loved ballads and other songs appropriate for this special occasion.
The refreshments and raffle prizes also had a Jubilee theme and everyone had a wonderful evening.
The Society is very grateful to The Community Foundation for Calderdale for its support for this concert.
Members are now looking forward to visiting Aachen in July, renewing old friendships there and making new friends too. New members will be welcome at our meeting on Wednesday 29thAugust in the Maurice Jagger Centre opposite the bus station.
