An Everest Panorama was the title of an entertaining talk by Brian Crowther to the meeting of the Halifax Aachen Society on 28th November.
Brian gave a slide presentation of a trekking trip to the Mount Everest region of Nepal involving several scary flights in small planes and the challenges of walking at an altitude of above 4,000m. His slides illustrated the wonderful mountain scenery as well as the customs and friendliness of the Nepalese villages and porters.
Brian also commented on the impact of growing numbers of visitors on a fragile environment and the traditional ways of life of the Nepalese people.
