“Tha’s Got To Laugh” was the appropriate title of a Talk by Ben Richardson to the August meeting of the Society. Ben had served as a policeman for 33 years mainly in the Dewsbury area but with short spells elsewhere including Halifax.
Along the way he had experienced many funny, unusual and bizarre incidents which he described to the meeting. His Police service went back to the 1960s and he also commented on the significant changes that had taken place in policing since that time. Dewsbury for example now has 6 police officers – in Ben’s day it had 108.
