A Year Looking for Kingfishers

At the Society’s October meeting the guest speaker was Steve Midgley whose talk was A Year Looking for Kingfishers and this was enjoyed by everyone.

He described his great interest in wildlife from a young age which has developed into a passion for wildlife photography. He illustrated his talk with stunning photos of a wide variety of birds captured in local areas such as Copley Woods and Cromwell Bottom Nature Reserve as well as further afield including Studley Royal (red deer) and the east coast (seabirds and seals). The good news is that several endangered species are now increasing in numbers.
