German Evening

A large number of members and friends enjoyed an evening of events with a German theme to celebrate 65 years of links between Halifax and Aachen. The programme included slide presentations of recent visits to Aachen by the Society and the Minster Choirs, the cult show Dinner for One and the personal recollections of members.

A quiz and display of memorabilia were also appreciated before a Supper of German soup, cheeses, sausages and drinks. The Chair, Trevor Briggs, gave a special welcome to Mary Brook and Frank Cockroft who had taken part in the first visit to Aachen in 1949 and thanked everyone who had contributed to the event.
